UWELL Caliburn X Pod System

Every other Caliburn we stock throws the coil away with the pod. This one does not.

The Caliburn X uses a refillable pod with a separate, replaceable coil that press-fits in. When the coil wears out you swap the coil, not the whole cartridge. Over a year that is a meaningful difference in running cost, and it produces considerably less plastic waste.

If you have been buying integrated pods and wincing at the price every fortnight, this is the device that fixes it.

Two coils in the box

A 0.8Ω Caliburn G coil comes preinstalled, which runs warmer with more vapour. A 1.2Ω Caliburn G2 coil is included spare, tighter and more cigarette-like.

Both are FeCrAl UN2 Meshed-H. Beyond those two, any coil in UWELL’s G series fits, including the 1.0Ω, so you can tune the draw without buying a new device.

Note this is a different coil platform. The rest of our Caliburn range uses GPP and GPP Alpha pods. The X uses G and G2 coils. Your pods from another Caliburn will not fit here, and vice versa.

An OLED screen and one button that does everything

The screen shows wattage, battery level and coil resistance. The single multi-control button handles the rest: turn on, adjust power from 5 to 20W, and fire.

Five clicks locks the device. That stops it firing in a pocket or a bag, which on a device with a fire button matters more than it sounds. Unlocked, you can draw to vape instead of pressing.

Six finishes

Matte Black is understated, Moonlight Silver a brushed pale silver, and Ink Blue a deep navy. Lake Green is a muted blue-green, Lilac Purple a soft light purple and Ribbon Red a rich red.

Aluminium alloy chassis with PCTG, at 46g. It takes knocks and light drops without marking the way plastic does.

3ml top fill with a juice window

Filling is from the top, so no pulling the pod out. A viewing window on the side shows your level, which matters here because running a replaceable coil dry burns it, and a burnt coil is one you have to replace.

20W, and being honest about it

Most of our Caliburn range runs to 35W with a 1600mAh or 2000mAh battery. The X is 20W on 850mAh, and it is an older design.

What you are buying it for is the coil system, not the power. Twenty watts is ample for MTL vaping with salt nicotine, which is what this device was built for, and it handles freebase too. If you want raw output or long battery life, the G4 Pro or G5 suits you better. If you want lower running costs and the ability to swap coils rather than pods, nothing else in the range does that.

How to use

Charge fully before first use. Press the coil into the pod, fill from the top leaving a small air gap, and let it soak for ten minutes before your first puff. A new coil burns easily if you rush this.

Click the button five times to unlock, set your wattage on the OLED, and either press to fire or just inhale. Five clicks again locks it before pocketing.

Both salt nicotine and freebase work here. Use the 1.2Ω coil for salt nic and a tight draw, the 0.8Ω for freebase and more vapour.
