Waves and Storm

These are not marketing names for high and low.

Waves Mode delivers smooth, rhythmic output that builds gradually, which reveals the layered notes in a liquid rather than hitting you with all of it at once. It is also the more efficient of the two, so your pod and battery last longer.

Storm Mode does the opposite. An instant burst of power for a hard throat hit and dense vapour, straight away.

Two clicks of the side button switches between them. Most people run Waves through the day and switch to Storm when they want a stronger hit.

35W in 1W steps

Not preset levels. You adjust the output one watt at a time, which means you can match the power precisely to whichever pod resistance you have fitted rather than picking the nearest option someone else chose for you.

Three clicks of the button opens the adjustment.

Six finishes, two of them revivals

Onyx Black is deep black leather and Midnight Blue a dark navy. Golden Brown is warm tan, and Mocha Silver a silver-grey with brown tones. Fantasy Pink and Ocean Flame are brought back from the original GK2, which anyone who has been vaping a few years will recognise.

The body is zinc alloy wrapped in leather, which gives the device weight and grip that the plastic Lite models do not have.

The 1600mAh battery is rated at up to six days per charge. The display shows the level from 0 to 99 percent rather than in bars, so you know exactly where you stand rather than guessing between segments.

Top airflow, stepless

The airflow sits on top and adjusts continuously rather than clicking between fixed positions. That takes you from a tight cigarette-style mouth-to-lung pull through to a looser restricted direct lung draw, and the top placement also helps prevent leaking.

GPP, GPP Alpha and G3 pods

Takes the full GPP range at 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.9Ω and 1.2Ω, GPP Alpha cartridges, and older Caliburn G3 pods. A 0.6Ω 3ml pod is included, filling from the side.

G5 KOKO or G5 Lite KOKO?

Both are square, both take GPP pods, both have a 1600mAh battery.

The G5 Lite KOKO at 95 AED has no screen and no settings. Smart Mode sets the wattage for you, a breathing light shows battery, and the device vibrates when you draw.

The G5 KOKO at 120 AED adds the starlit ocean display, Waves and Storm modes, 1W wattage adjustment, a side button, and a zinc alloy and leather body instead of plastic.

How to use

Charge fully before first use. Fill the pod from the side, leaving a small air gap, and let a new pod soak for five to ten minutes before your first puff. Five clicks turns the device on. Two clicks switches between Waves and Storm. Three clicks lets you adjust the wattage. Set the top airflow to taste, then draw or press the button.

Use 50/50 e-liquid on the 0.9Ω and 1.2Ω pods. The 0.6Ω and 0.4Ω handle 70/30 freebase for more vapour.
